South African Property Owners Association (SAPOA) Bursary.

ABOUT THE BURSAR

The South African Property Owners Association (SAPOA) was founded in 1966. The company is aimed at encouraging the promotion and expansion of the industrial and commercial property sectors within South Africa.
The SAPOA bursary fund was established to address the skills shortage within the Commercial Property Industry. By financially assisting young black deserving students, SAPOA hopes to transform the commercial property industry to correctly reflect the population demographic in the country.

ABOUT THE BURSARY

Bursaries will be awarded to those studying towards a property-related qualification, particularly the following fields of study:

  • Construction Studies (BSc)
  • Finance (BCom) (majoring in Property Valuation and Management)
  • Property Management (BSc)
  • Property Studies (BSc)
  • Property Valuation and Management (BCom)
  • Quantity Surveying (BSc)
  • Real Estate (BSc)
  • Town and Regional Planning (BSc)
  • Urban and Regional Planning (BSc)

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying:

  • South African citizen,
  • Studying (or intend on studying) full-time in one of the aforementioned fields of study,
  • Studying at a recognised university or university of technology in South Africa (registered with the Council for Higher Education),
  • Achieving high academic results,
  • In financial need,
  • Are within the Black race: Africans, Indian or Coloured.

HOW TO APPLY

Please include the following items in your application pack:

  • ID document (certified copy),
  • Matric certificate (certified copy),
  • Proof of acceptance to study at tertiary institution (on tertiary letterhead),
  • Latest academic record/ transcript (on tertiary letterhead) (certified copy),
  • Breakdown of costs for the relevant study programme for the year,
  • Full CV (of background and working experience),
  • Parents/ guardians ID documents (certified copies),
  • Personal statement/ motivational letter (max 2 pages),
  • Two written references.
