ABOUT THE BURSAR
As one of the largest water utility companies across the globe, Rand Water are responsible for supplying bulk quantities of superior quality water to more than 12 million South Africans. Established in 1903, Rand Water has never failed to supply water to the growing economy in the country.
Rand Water are inviting students studying towards undergraduate qualifications to apply for the bursary programme.
ABOUT THE BURSARY
Bursaries will be awarded within the following fields of study to GAUTENG residents (Notice Number BP010):
- Finance (BTech/ Degree/ Honours): 1st year of study only
- Business Information Systems/ Information Systems (Degree): 2nd year of study only
- Town Planning (BTech/ Degree): 2nd year of study only
- Architectural Studies (BTech/ Degree): 2nd and 3rd year of study only
- Civil Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering (BTech/ Degree/ N Diploma): 2nd and 3rd year of study only
- IT Network Administration (BTech/ Degree/ National Diploma): 2nd to 4th year of study only
- Computer Science/ Infrastructure and Operations (BTech/ Degree/ National Diploma): 3rd year of study only
- Information Technology (BTech/ Degree/ National Diploma): 3rd year of study only
- IT Infrastructure and Operations (BTech/ Degree/ Honours): 3rd and 4th year of study only
- Land Surveying (BTech/ Degree): 3rd and 4th year of study only
- Quantity Surveying (BTech/ Degree): 3rd and 4th year of study only
- Geography/Environmental Sciences (BTech/ Degree): 3rd and 4th year of study only
Bursaries will also be awarded within the following fields of study to MPUMALANGA residents (Notice Number BP007):
- Business Information Systems/ Information Systems (BTech/ Degree): 2nd year of study only
- Human Resources (BTech/ Degree/ Honours): 2nd year of study only
- Water Care (BTech/ N Diploma): 2nd year of study only
- Architectural Studies (BTech/ Degree): 2nd and 3rd year of study only
- Computer Science/ Information Technology (BTech/ Degree/ N Diploma): 2nd and 3rd year of study only
- Civil Engineering (BTech/ Degree): 2nd and 3rd year of study only
- Chemical Engineering (BTech/ Degree): 2nd and 3rd year of study only
- Electrical Engineering (BTech/ Degree): 2nd and 3rd year of study only
- Mechanical Engineering (BTech/ Degree): 2nd and 3rd year of study only
- Land Surveying (BTech/ Degree): 3rd year of study only
- Quantity Surveying (BTech/ Degree): 3rd year of study only
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying:
- South African citizen
- Completed Matric
- Resident of Gauteng or Mpumalanga province
- Under 30 years old
- Studying (or accepted to study) in one of the aforementioned fields of study
- Studying (or accepted to study) at a recognised tertiary institution in South Africa
- Achieved a minimum of 65% for all major subjects
- Interested in working within the water sector
- From a previously disadvantaged background
- Not previously held a bursary award or other funding
*Preference will be given to female applicants, as well as students with disabilities.
