ABOUT THE BURSAR
Telkom SA is a provider of wireline and wireless telecommunications to people across South Africa. Founded in Johannesburg, South Africa in 1991, Telkom now operates in over 38 African countries.
Telkom are awarding bursaries of approximately R95 000 per annum to students studying within the communication, business and engineering fields.
ABOUT THE BURSARY
Students are are currently studying or intend on studying in one of the following tertiary institutions and fields of study are welcome to apply:
University students:
- B Electronic Engineering
- B Electrical Engineering (Light Current)
- BSc Electronic Engineering
- BSc Electrical Engineering(Light Current)
- BSc Computer Engineering
- BSc Computer Science
- BSc Information Technology
Technikon students:
- ND Computer Systems Engineering
- ND Electrical Engineering (Light Current)
- ND Information Technology (Technical)
Technical College students:
- National N Diploma Electrical Engineering (Light Current)
The bursary will cover the cost of tuition, accommodation, prescribed books and a living allowance. Once students have graduated, they will be required to work for Telkom for the duration equal to their bursary.
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying:
- South African citizen,
- Proven financial need.
Applicants must satisfy the following criteria based on their tertiary institution of choice:
University students:
- Completed Matric with a minimum of 60% or “C” symbol in English, Mathematics and Science.
- Current tertiary students must have a minimum average of 60% and no failed subjects.
Technikon students:
- Completed Matric with a minimum of 50% or “D” symbol in English, Mathematics and Science.
- Current tertiary students must have a minimum average of 60% and no failed subjects.
Technical College students:
- Completed Matric with a minimum of 50% or “D” symbol in English, Mathematics and Science.
- Current tertiary students must have a minimum average of 60% and no failed subjects.
HOW TO APPLY
Application forms can be collected from 1 March annually, at a Telkom Centre for Learning & Organisational Capacity (CFL & OC) closest to you (addresses below).
The following documents must be submitted with your complete application form:
ID document (certified copy),
Matric results certificate OR tertiary results (certified copy).
Application forms and supporting documents must then be delivered to one of the following addresses:
