ABOUT THE BURSAR

Aurecon was founded in 2009 when 3 engineering consulting firms (Connell Wagner, Africon and Ninham Shand) merged together. Aurecon is now home to more than 7 500 employees and has offices in 27 countries throughout Africa, the Middle East and Asia. They are providers of engineering, management and technical services, for global clients in the private and public sector.

ABOUT THE BURSARY

Aurecon are proud to offer a bursary programme for students who show strong academic merits, seeking to study within the fields that Aurecon operates in:

  • Civil Engineering
  • Structural Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering

The bursary will be awarded for study at various tertiary institutions within the above mentioned Engineering fields. The selected applicant must show strong academic results, as well as financial need.

The bursary value is a maxim of R80 000 per year per bursary applicant, and the bursary will only be renewed should the student continue to show sufficient academic results.

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants must please ensure that they meet the following criteria before applying

  • South African citizen,
  • Currently studying or intend to study a BSc or BEng in one of the aforementioned Engineering undergraduate Degrees
  • Currently studying or intend to study at a recognised University in South Africa.
  • Matric students: achieved a minimum of “5” symbol in Science and Mathematics since Grade 11.
  • Current university students: maintained a minimum average of 70%

Matric/ Grade 12 students:

  • ID document (certified copy),
  • Latest academic report (reflecting Mathematics and Physical Science results),
  • Confirmation of acceptance by your selected university for your course of study (on tertiary letterhead).

Current students (first, second or third year study):

  • ID document (certified copy),
  • Matric certificate (certified copy),
  • Full academic record/ transcripts (on tertiary letterhead).
