RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL)
Learners may gain credit for modules through previous course work. Requests for credit are considered by a review committee.
Since the BML programme is specifically designed for adult learners, RPL plays a major role in the programme. The first six months of the programme focuses specifically on RPL. At the end of the 1st semester (and each semester thereafter) all the students are invited to submit their RPL document.
If a student’s prior learning has the same outcomes of a module or modules we have, he or she will get credit for that module. This implies that the student does not have to do that module(s).
In short:

  1. We do not pre-assessment of prior learning for students (because it is an integral part of the programme).
  2. All registered students have the opportunity twice a year to apply for credits.
