The Certificate in Business Accounting is CIMA’s entry level accounting qualification for students with little or no accounting background.

The CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting (Cert BA) is the first step towards unleashing true business potential and an entry route to becoming a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA®). Teaching core business and finance skills beyond simple financial accounting.

What do I need to get started?
You don’t need any formal qualifications to start this level. You will need a good understanding of both English and Maths and a passion to succeed in Business.
If you have any previous accounting experience you might be eligible for exemptions from subjects at this level. IMAS will gladly assist you to get your exemptions.
What will you learn?
The certificate consists of five subjects:
C01: Fundamentals of Management Accounting
C02: Fundamentals of Financial Accounting
C03: Fundamentals of Business Mathematics
C04: Fundamentals of Business Economics
C05: Fundamentals of Ethics, Corporate Governance and Business Law

Upon completing the Certificate, you will be able to proceed to the CIMA Professional Qualification, starting at the Operational level (CIMA Diploma in Management Accounting).
How long is the CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting?
The duration purely depends on you. However we recommend that you give yourself 12 months to complete the CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting.
You can take two or three subjects per semester.
IMAS : CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting Course Delivery
The CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting can be studied through our:
- Full-Time Classes (Monday to Friday)
- Part-Time Classes (either on weekdays evening or weekends)
- Distance Learning, supported by an Online Support. Students on Distance Learning will be able to join the revision session at the end of each semester.

IMAS : CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting Exams
The exams can be taken in any order or combination you choose and at your own pace. Exams for this level can be sat throughout the year and are assessed by Computer Based Assessment.
