OVERVIEW
Careers are offered in four broad areas at Nelson Mandela Drive and Zamukulungisa sites in Mthatha: Initial professional education, mathematics, science and technology education, professional teacher development as well as social sciences and development studies
WSU has one of the reputable pedigrees in education in South Africa, offering a wide range of programmes.
The programmes focus on the initial professional education of teachers as well as their continuing development.  Specialist focuses on mathematics, science and technology education are also catered for as too are social sciences and development studies.
These areas are housed in four areas:
– Initial Professional Education of Teachers (IPET)
– Mathematics, Science and Technology Education (CPTD)
– Continuing Professional Teacher Development (MSTE)
– Social Sciences and Development Studies (SSDS).
