The Private Hotel School in Stellenbosch Occupational Chef Certificate
Introduction:
The Occupational Chef Certificate is a 3 year block release programme registered with the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO). This qualification was developed by the Culture, Art, Tourism and Hospitality and Sport Sector Training Authority (CATHSSETA) and benchmarked with criteria as set out by the South African Chefs Association, an official body and recognised in the hospitality industry. Chefs and cooks with this qualification can seek employment as a demi chef and will be able to articulate to further qualifications or may lead to promotion and further enhancement as a sous chef or executive chef.
Successful candidates will be required to complete their work integrated learning in blocks of six months from October to March each year at a partner restaurant..

What’s excluded:
Textbooks, Uniform (Year 2 &3), supplementary exams, repeat subjects, lost student card/name badge, recognition of prior learning, examination remark/s, accommodation, transport, US Library membership
Course Fee:
Year 1-3: R 35 000 per year
Minimum Admission Requirements:
Proof of Highest School Qualification or UMALUSI Certificate (minimum Grade 10, although Grade 12 is recommended).
Duration: 3 Years
