The Department of Education has processed the applications and will send SMSs by 18 September to notify parents of placements at the respective schools according to the placement criteria. Parents then have seven days to accept a placement at a school.
As parents have applied to more than one school and may have been accepted at more than one school, it is important that you accept the school of your choice as soon as possible. As parents exercise their choices, additional places at schools will become available to learners on the waiting list, after which a next series of text messages will be sent out.
If you do not receive a text message, we recommend that you visit the website, www.gdeadmissions.gov.za , to see what your status is, as it has happened in the past for parents to be texted. e.
If your child is not placed at the school of your choice, there will be an opportunity for representations later. The representation forms will be available at the school and the school will guide you through this process.
For the first time, however, it is essential that you accept at the school where your child is placed, even if it is not the school of your choice, so that the possible transfer can take place.
