WSU PROSPECTUS
Walter Sisulu University (WSU) has four Campuses namely, Buffalo City Campus, Queenstown Campus, Butterworth Campus and Mthatha Campus
Walter Sisulu University (WSU) is a university of technology and science located in Mthatha, Eastern Cape, South Africa, which came into existence on 1 July 2005 as a result of a merger between Border Technikon, Eastern Cape Technikon and the University of Transkei. The University is proud to be named after Walter Max Ulyate Sisulu, ANC deputy president and close friend of Nelson Mandela. In honour of this extraordinary political activist, the University awarded a posthumous honorary doctorate to the late Walter Sisulu in 2007.
Their four campuses are spread throughout the eastern part of the Eastern Cape, from East London in the south, to Butterworth and Mthatha in the north and Queenstown to the west. These four campuses have multiple sites. In East London, the University is spread over six sites – Potsdam, College Street, Cambridge Street, Chiselhurst, Buffalo City and the Heritage Building. Queenstown, or the Whittlesea campus, and Butterworth, also known as Ibika, are sometimes grouped together, based on past history when these were managed as one campus. The biggest of campuses is Mthatha which has two sites – Nelson Mandela Drive and Zamukulungisa.
