ABOUT THE BURSAR
The Auditor-General of South Africa (AGSA) was established over 100 years ago, in 1911. AGSA is the supreme audit institution of South Africa, whose role it is to audit and report on the spending of South African taxpayers’ money by the South African government.
ABOUT THE BURSARY
The bursary will be awarded to students currently studying or intending on studying towards a Chartered Accountant qualification, at a university recognised and accredited by the SAICA (South African Institute of Chartered Accountants). On completion of their studies, candidates will be required to serve articles for 3 years or engage in a training contract with Auditor-General.
The bursary will cover the following expenses: tuition, accommodation in hostel, food or living allowance and a textbook allowance.

ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must please ensure that they meet the following criteria before applying:
- South African citizen,
- Good interpersonal skills,
- Strong leadership potential,
- Strong communication skills,
- Proficient in English,
- Determined and committed to succeed.
Applicants must also meet the following minimum academic criteria:
Grade 12/ Matric students:
- Matric exemption with University acceptance,
- Minimum of 60% for English,
- Minimum of 60% for Mathematics.
First year university students:
- Minimum of 60% for Financial Accounting.
Second year university students:
- Minimum of 60% for Financial Accounting,
- Minimum of 60% for Managerial Accounting.
Third year university students:
- Minimum of 60% for Financial Accounting,
- Minimum of 60% for Managerial Accounting,
- Minimum of 60% for Auditing,
- Minimum of 60% for Taxation,
- Minimum of 60% for all subjects.
