ABOUT THE BURSAR

The Department of Mineral Resources is one of the oldest Government departments within South Africa. The main vision of this department is to create a globally sustainable and competitive minerals and mining sector to ensure that all South Africans receive sustainable benefit from the country’s mineral wealth.

ABOUT THE BURSARY

This bursary programme is applicable to female learners from rural areas only, who plan to study within the following fields:

  • Chemical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering (Heavy current)
  • Environmental Science
  • Geology
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Mining Engineering (and other mining-related fields)
  • Mine surveying
  • Rock blasting

*Applicants with less than symbol B (Higher Grade) in Mathematics and Science will not be considered.
