FASHION ACADEMY NETWORK

THE NETWORK THAT DELIVERS A PREMIUM QUALITY FASHION EDUCATION

FAN functions in a network of established fashion related businesses in the South African fashion industry and is engaged in the process of accreditation with the Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education.

Only a selected amount of participants are admitted annually to study at FAN.

This ensures that every student receives focused, personal attention.

The FAN curriculum includes lectures by established fashion experts, sharing their experience in the fashion industry.

FAN sponsors and selects the top four students to travel to New York during their second year of study. This experience serves as inspiration to design a collection that they will present at Fashion Week, during their 3rd year.

Professional designers will mentor participants during the 3rd year to assist in creating their collections to be shown at Fashion Week.

In-house training is conducted with established designers, fashion magazines and runway show producers.

Intensive programmes are coordinated with international facilitators.

FAN is situated in Rosebank, Johannesburg, with easy access to the Gautrain.

3rd year participants manage operations of the FAN fashion retail shop, in which their own designs are sold, thus building a customer base for their own labels.

Participants that have completed their 3 year tenure can continue to sell their garments through the FAN fashion retail shop, thereby continuing to create their own independent income.
