IMAS offers flexible learning options to suit your personal circumstances in that you can study either full-time or part-time. This means that you can work and learn at the same time.
Our part-time students have the option of either attending evening classes during the week, or on weekends in some of our branches. Whilst, some branches only offer Weekend Classes and Monthly Block Classes at the moment.

CIMA Full-Time Classes

IMAS offers full time classes for the CIMA Qualification, from the CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting to the CIMA Advanced Diploma in Management. Over time, IMAS will be offering the Strategic Level on a full-time basis from 2024.

Requirements:

You will need a Matric certificate with a pass in both Mathematics and English. If you don’t have Mathematics, you will need a minimum of 50% in Maths Literacy. This will allow matriculants to be accepted to study towards the CIMA Qualification.
Students from outside South Africa with other equivalents of Matric i.e. Form E, A levels, SGCSE, IGCSE etc. are welcome to apply.
Individuals who possess a Diploma or Degree in any Accounting or Finance related field, will be able to study towards the CIMA Diploma in Management Accounting (Operational Level) or the CIMA Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting (Management Level), depending on the exemptions CIMA would grant them.

CIMA Part-Time Classes

Our CIMA Part-time Programme is the most flexible and dynamic program you can find in South Africa.
We offer a better value for money than you could find anywhere else.
Students have an option of attending either evening classes during the week or on weekends. Classes offered on weekdays are repeated on weekends. From 2024, all our students across the country will have access to our online student portal which gives them access to:

  • Class Videos, they can watch them as many times as they want
  • Class Notes
  • Discussion Forum with fellow students and lecturers with access on their mobile

Through the Part-Time Programme, the following is offered:

  • A minimum of 24 hours of contact teaching sessions
  • A mid-term progress test
  • Two full days’ revision sessions
  • Mock exam and feedback session
  • Free Integrated Case Study Workshop over two days
  • Access to our tutors and additional resources to help you pass through our online student portal

CIMA Distance Learning and Home Study Programme

Our distance learning or home study programme is meant for students who are based in locations that are further from our campuses. We provide our students with all study material and support them through our online student portal. Telephonic support is also provided to distance learning students.
A scheme of work with detailed weekly outcome has been designed to assist distance learning or home study programme students cope with their studies. This will include:

  • Access to weekly videos to align them with what is being covered in our different campuses.
  • Weekly assignments to assist students work on a consistent basis.

Block Release

In addition to the Distance Learning Programme, starting from the 2024 first semester we have decided to offer a Block Release tuition support for our students in Port Elizabeth and Nelspruit. This will be roll-out to Polokwane and Bloemfontein later.
Students in Port Elizabeth and Nelspruit, will get the same amount of hours as students in other branches except that theirs will be on a monthly block release basis. This mean, instead of attending every weekend, they will attend once or twice a month on a Saturday and Sunday. However, students will have access to the student online portal, providing them with class videos recorded at our Johannesburg and Sandton Main Campus.
