International Academy Health and Skin Care / Somatology Courses

is a 2 year full time course. The Health and skincare course is registered with the Department of Higher education. Class times are form 8h30 – 15h45 weekdays. During the 2nd year, the students are exposed to performing treatments on members of the public in our very own Student Salon, molding them into great therapists, whilst building their confidence.
Students can also further their studies by doing the additional year . This has been voted the best additional year course, for 4 years running, by international bodies. The course is subdivided into four categories being medical aesthetics, spa therapies, holistic therapies and managerial development. Students will perform treatments in our day spa on clients, ensuring their high level of training and promoting their level of confidence in order to promote themselves to prospective employers.
Available qualifications in the Health and Skincare course include: International Academy National Diploma, CIDESCO Membership Diploma, ITEC Membership Diploma and SAAHSP Membership Diploma.

Upon successful completion of the Health and Skincare course, you will be able to work:

• On board Luxury Cruise liners: exploring the world, seeing the Caribbean, Alaska, Mediterranean, earning tax free dollars!
• Assisting plastic surgeons with botox, fillers and pre and post-operative care in medical aesthetic practices
• Work in upmarket spa’s and salons all over the world
• Become a marketing executive
• Become a lecturer
• Product training or repping
• Own your own salon/spa

Part time International Academy Health and Skin Care / Somatology Courses

are also available. We pride ourselves in training the best Health and Skincare therapists, Massage therapists and nail technicians. All part time students will obtain a certificate in the applicable course, with an opportunity to do the Itec Membership Exam also, in November of each year. This will allow them to travel with their qualification.
