Loutzavia was founded by Jannie and Maria Loutzis in 2003 initially as Aircraft Sales Company and Pilot Shop. Within the following year Loutzavia opened the Flight Training Division in response to popular demand from the aviation industry. The initial focus was on advanced training, but in addition to this, it became obvious that there was a tremendous need for ab-initio training. The Flight Training Division started with just 2 aircraft and has grown to its present fleet of 22 aircraft.
Loutzavia Air Charters Division was launched by Jannie Loutzis and Henry Miles in 2005 and has since been rendering VIP travel services to various Southern African Destinations, providing our passengers with a truly unforgettable in-flight experience. Loutzavia has since grown to be an organization that deals with virtually every aspect of the aviation industry, and the business has expanded due to the combination of Jannie’s passion and experience in aviation and Maria’s focus on quality and service excellence.
Jannie qualified as Commercial Pilot in 1991 and as Flight Instructor in 1993. Soon after, he started his first Flight Training School in Groblersdal. Subsequently, he moved the flight training school to Wonderboom Airport and named it Blue Chip Aviation. Jannie was the owner of Blue Chip Aviation Flight training and Air charters for 10 years, where he trained over 1000 pilots Jannie qualified as Grade II flight instructor and Class 2 Test Pilot in 1994, as well as a Registered Radio Examiner for Restricted and General Radio Licences. He gained an Airline Transport Pilot’s Licence in 2005 and has served as Designated Flight Examiner for the South African Civil Aviation Authority since 2005.
Alongside her husband Jannie, Maria Loutzis has been involved in the aviation industry since 2001. She is a qualified cost accountant with a National Diploma in Cost and Management Accounting, and also has extensive experience in recruitment.
