Meal fees
Meals are dealt with strictly on a cash basis at the University. It therefore means that you will have available only what you paid in on your meals account; no credit is therefore extended for meals! Meals, calculated at R92 per day for 170 days, amount to about R15 640 per year or R1 840 per month.
Meals in residence dining-halls can only be taken with the university card. Students pay only for meals that they do take. Meals and snacks can also be bought at the cafeteria with the university card. Apart from meals, only campus approved items may be bought on the university card, such as NWU-PUK dairies, NWU-PUK rugby jerseys, first-year dinner tickets or admission tickets to approved student events.
A direct bank deposit or electronic bank transfer can be made into any of the bank accounts of the North-West University at ABSA, First National Bank, Nedbank or Standard Bank. The pre-defined account named “NWU VENDING” must be selected from list of beneficiaries under ABSA’s Account payments, FNB’s Public Recipients, Nedbank’s Bank-approved beneficiaries or Standard Bank’s Companies. Screenshots on these setups are available at http://www.nwu.ac.za/content/screen-prints. Only the student’s 8-figure university number will be accepted as beneficiary reference. Should you still wish to send a payment advice, please fax it to 087 230 3701 or email it to puk-bankdeposit@nwu.ac.za.

- Standard Bank 33-038-243-8 branch 052-838.
