ABOUT THE BURSAR

Old Mutual plc, an international banking, savings, investment and insurance organisation was founded in Cape Town, South Africa in May 1845. Today they employ over 50 000 people across the globe.
 

ABOUT THE BURSARY

The bursary is applicable to students who intend on studying towards an Actuarial Science qualification at the University of Cape Town or Stellenbosch University.

The bursary will cover the following expenses: tuition, textbook allowance, a capped travel allowance, meals, accommodation. The following benefits will also be awarded: incentives for good performance, networking opportunities, vacation work from second year of study, academic and emotional support.
On completion of their studies, students will have guaranteed employment, mentoring from a professional actuary and more!

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying:

  • South African citizen,
  • Obtained an “A+” symbol for Matric mathematics,
  • Obtained “A” and “B” symbols for other Matric subjects,
  • Intend on study at UCT or Stellenbosch University.

*Preference will be given to South African learners of colour (Coloured, Black, Indian, Chinese – SA citizens by birth or descent).
