Postgraduate Diploma in Library and Information Studies at UWC

Postgraduate Diploma in Library and Information Studies (PGDipLIS) A one-year programme for graduates wishing to obtain a first professional qualification. It is a basic qualification for anyone wishing to pursue a professional career in Library and Information Science.

Admission requirements

To be considered for admission, applicants must meet the following minimum
requirements:

Candidates must be in possession of a 360 credits qualification at NQF level 7 or equivalent in any cognate discipline.

A minimum of three years of working experience in the health or welfare sector is required.

A candidate may be admitted in terms of RPL with relevant experience, in accordance with Rule A.2.1.4 and approval of the Senate.

Additional supporting documents may be required by the University from time to time.

Selection – As only a limited number of students can be admitted to the programme, applicants will be subject to a selection procedure.
