Aim
Regardless of whether you work in an primary school, high school or further education and training college, the School Counsellor Association of South Africa is there to support you in your role as school counsellor. Our Vision and Mission aim to ensure that the association meets all your professional needs, no matter in which setting you work or at what experience level you function. Although we have a broad focus within our field of work, we focus to provide professional development, development and enriching school counseling plans and research effective school counselling practices.
Our Vision
The School Counsellor Association of South Africa (TSCAZA) is the foundation that lobbies and advocates the ever growing need for school counsellor representation in all schools or colleges whether public or private. We provide leadership, professional networking and policy direction to expand and develop our profession. TSCAZA empowers professional school counsellors with the knowledge, skills and resources to promote student academic and emotional well-being at school or college, at home, in our communities and in our world.
Our Mission
The mission of TSCAZA is to represent professional school counsellors nationally and to promote professionalism and ethical practices in the profession.
Our Values:
Professional development opportunities are made available to all school counsellors, especially in critical areas that are of utmost importance.
Up to date information on the latest, effective school counseling practices are made available to enrich and empower school counsellors.
Policy direction on young people issues, developing and monitoring of policies guiding and advocating school counsellors role in schools are a top priority. Initiating, developing and supporting research in schools or colleges to ensure continued evaluation and monitoring.
Professional and ethical standards as set out in the code of conduct guide professional behaviour for professional school counselors.
Strategic partnerships with stakeholders exist to support, enhance and empower professional school counsellors and their young people.
The association maintains an organisational structure and administrative functions that facilitate the accomplishment of our vision and mission.
