ABOUT THE BURSAR
The Services Sector Education and Training Authority (Services SETA) was founded in 2000 via the Skills Development Act of 1998.
The Services SETA are responsible for ensuring that the services sector skill requirements are identified and ensuring that sufficient skills are readily available.

ABOUT THE BURSARY

Services SETA will be awarding bursary funding to both employed and unemployed learners, for all qualifications in the Service Sector.

Bursaries will be awarded to those studying in the following fields of study:

  • Services Sector qualifications
  • Scarce and critical skills
  • Artisanal qualifications

The aim of the bursary award is to provide funding and resources for the skills development needs of the services sector.

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying:

  • South African citizen
  • Currently registered at a recognised South African higher education institution (Public University/ University of Technology/ TVET College)
  • Will be studying this academic year (2024)
  • Registered to study towards an undergraduate or postgraduate qualification in the Services Sector
  • Employed or unemployed
  • Do not hold any other source of funding

*Preference will be given to students from previously disadvantage backgrounds, disabled students, those studying at a public institution and students studying towards a one of the scarce and critical skills fields.

You will need to “register” an account at: http://www.ssetabursary.org.za/profile/register and thereafter you will be required to input your information (such as personal details, study details, employment details if applicable, study related fees etc).
You will also be required to upload copies of the following supporting documents:

  • ID document (certified copy)
  • Proof of registration at a tertiary institution
  • Statement of fees (including tuition fees, book and stationery allowance)
  • Proof of accommodation
  • Proof of relationship to applicant
  • Parents/ Guardians ID documents (certified copies)
  • Parents/ Guardians proof of income and a letter of permission to verify employment status and income
