About Us

Welcome to the Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University (SMU). A year has passed since the birth of our new University. Our students continue to receive support from our Academic Guardians, the Centre for Academic Excellence, Mentors and Student Health centre in order ensure that our students who enrol for MBChB, MBChB Extended Degree Curriculum Programme (ECP), Diagnostic Radiography as well as Post-Graduate programmes receive academic/social/health support. The MBChB ECP was introduced especially for students from quintile 1 and 2 Schools in order to give them an opportunity to enter the mainstream MBChB programme on successfully completing the first year of the course.
