ABOUT THE BURSAR
Umgeni Water was formed in 1974, a public entity that supplies water and sanitation services to water services organisations in the area; reporting to the Department of Water and Sanitation. Umgeni Water are offering 3 bursary awards within the Engineering sector in South Africa.
ABOUT THE BURSARY
There are 3 bursary awards (one in each of the following fields of study):
- Chemical Engineering (BSc/B Eng)
- Civil Engineering (BSc/B Eng)
- Electrical Engineering (BSc/B Eng)
The bursary will cover the following study-related fees: registration, tuition, accommodation, meals, prescribed books and stationery.
On completion of their studies, students will be required to partake in a service contract equal to the duration of their bursary award.
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying:
- South African citizen,
- Full-time second year student,
- Proven financial need,
- Enrolled in a South African University,
- Meet the minimum entry criteria for second year of study,
- Current students must have passed all subjects and obtained a minimum average of 50% for studies to date,
*Preference will be given to students residing in KwaZulu-Natal

- Proof of university enrolment,
- Full academic record (transcripts/results) for the previous year of study,
