REQUIREMENTS

  • Senior Certificate: Symbol E-S and Grade V Theory Certificate from any recognised music institution, for example, Unisa, Trinity College and the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music
  • NSC: Minimum rating of 3 (40-49%) for students who have done Music in Grade 12; NSC rating of 4 for any other school subject to be taken as a major.
  • Those applicants without music will be interviewed/auditioned.

  • Senior Certificate: Two subjects with E (HG) or D (SG) in any two school subjects from Languages, History and Geography and a pass in any other two school subjects.
  • NSC (Degree): rating of at least 4 (50 – 59%) for any four NSC subjects, two of which should be taken as Majors. NSC rating of at least 5 (60 -69%) for English if it is to be taken as a major subject and NSC rating of at least least 3 (40-49%) if not to be taken as a major which is the language of learning and teaching of WSU and a pass in any other school subject.

BEd (FET) Natural Sciences Nelson Mandela Drive, Mthatha
REQUIREMENTS

  • APS: 22 – See our easy-to-understand scoring table
  • Senior Certificate: E (HG) or D (SG) in Mathematics and in any other two science subjects and a pass in any other or three school subjects.
  • Successful completion of the Foundation Programme of the Faculty of Education.
  • NSC (Degree): rating of at least 4 (50-59%) for Mathematics or 4 (50-59%) for Mathematical Literacy and 3 (40-49%) for either Life Sciences or Physical Sciences, provided one of these will not be taken as a major.
  • NSC rating of at least 5 (60-69%) for English if it is to be taken as a major subject and NSC rating of at least 3 (40-49%) if it is not be taken as a major which is the language of learing and teaching, and a pass in any other school subject.

  • NSC (Degree): rating of at least 4 (50-59%) in any four NSC subjects, two of which should be from the Services Learning Field and are to be taken as majors for the programme. NSC rating of at least 2 (30-39%) for English.
