OUT LGBT Well-being provides direct health services to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community, MSM, sex workers, and injecting drug users, including HIV testing, counselling, treatment and general lifestyle advice and support. OUT has been in existence for more than 21 years and is dedicated to the building of healthy and empowered LGBT communities in South Africa and internationally, while reducing hetrosexism and homophobia in society.
OUT is currently recruiting for the following three vacancies:
Job Title: Registered Nurse for People Who Inject Drugs based in Hatfield/Pretoria
S/he will be responsible for the wellbeing of PWID clients, with a focus on drug use and harm reduction, HIV Testing and Treatment, STI- and Tb screenings and treatment, and Hepatitis specifically in a mobile setting including outreach with homeless clients. The suitable candidate will have to be available after hours, during weekends and on public holidays as well. Experience in provision of Opiate Substitute Therapy will be an advantage.
Responsibilities:
- Distribution of harm reduction commodities
- HIV Counselling and Testing
- Wellness adherence and referral
- Provision of ART (Anti-Retroviral Therapy)
- Provision of PrEP, viral load /CD4 monitoring and general HIV management
- STI (Sexually Transmitted Infections) screening and treatment
- TB (tuberculosis) screening and treatment
- Screening for Hepatitis B & C and referrals, wound care, overdose prevention
Job Title: Registered Nurse for Men who have Sex with Men based in Pretoria/Tshwane
S/he will be responsible for the wellbeing of MSM clients with a focus on HIV Testing and Treatment, STI- and Tb screenings and treatments and provision of PrEP in mobile- and fixed clinic settings. The suitable candidate will have to be available after hours, during weekends and on public holidays as well.
Responsibilities:
- HIV Counselling and Testing, wellness adherence and referral, provision of ART (Anti-Retroviral Therapy)
- Provision of PrEP, viral load /CD4 monitoring and general HIV management
- STI (Sexually Transmitted Infections) screening and treatment
- TB (tuberculosis) screening and treatment
- Screening for Hepatitis B & C and referrals, wound care, overdose prevention
Job Title: Registered Nurse for People Who Inject Drugs based in Mbombela/Nelspruit
S/he will be responsible for the wellbeing of PWID clients, with a focus on drug use and harm reduction, HIV Testing and Treatment, STI- and Tb screenings and treatment, and Hepatitis specifically in a mobile setting including outreach with homeless clients. S/he will manage a small office of 3 people, including human resources, finances and monitoring and evaluation.
The suitable candidate will have to be available after hours, during weekends and on public holidays as well. Experience in provision of Opiate Substitute Therapy will be an advantage.

Requirements:
- An appropriate nursing qualification and qualified to prescribe and dispense relevant needed medicines
- Knowledge of harm reduction
- Maturity
- Strong project management skills
- Experience in working with key populations, specifically provision of direct services, and how to integrate this within the mainstream
- Focus of achieving outputs
There is a three-month probation period. Salary is negotiable pending on qualifications and experience.
