The position
The position of digital marketing operations manager is based in Cape Town and is responsible for campaign management (digital and offline), measurement and reporting, analytics, data management, and lead nurturing according to agreed Marketing Strategies, Goals and Objectives for the brand.
In addition, the role also works closely with the relevant Agencies to produce required campaign marketing materials as well as contribute to the departmental strategy formulation discussions and process.
Responsibilities
Campaign management and Implementation

  • Develop integrated B2C and B2B marketing campaign strategies and activity plans for Milpark Education  programmes that use channels effectively and that will achieve campaign objectives including generating qualified leads
  • Work with key stakeholders to implement campaign activity including sales, academic team, IT, business development, PR and programme leaders
  • Develop and implement paid media campaigns – using PPC and  Google Adword campaings
  • Brief external agencies where relevant including creative, digital and media planning agencies to deliver campaign activity and manage agency campaign implementation and performance against agreed campaign activity
  • Develop CRM strategies for each campaign and coordinate CRM activity including student lifecycle communication emails, data pulls and lead management.
  • Manage the accurateness of prospectuses, institutional profiles, adverts, online tools, promotional flyers, etc.
  • Be responsible for the production and sourcing of all campaign materials
  • Deliver campaign activity presentations and regular results presentations

Measurement and reporting

  • Develop and manage reporting processes and marketing dashboards, including measurement of campaigns, demand generation and online analytics. Responsible for consistency of metrics and overall data quality, including analysis of metrics and reporting against objectives and trends
  • Deliver bi-weekly optimisation and monthly reporting of results against metrics, including use of web analysis tools such as Google Analytics, email data reports, KPI report evaluations, etc.
  • Carry out post campaign analysis to report KPIs and distribute learning for future campaigns
  • Manage the master plan of activity to ensure that individual campaigns dovetail effectively without duplication or over-exposure while still achieving individual campaign objectives
  • Participate in student recruitment events and promotional activities necessary to support the promotion of the programme and meet recruitment targets for each programme, if required
  • Ensure each campaign has clear metrics as agreed with the Marketing Manager and ensure that campaigns are achieving appropriate return on investment in line with corporate goals.
  • Effectively manage generated leads from all areas of the campaign activity in conjunction with the business stakeholders and overall CRM strategy

Sales funnel data management and quality

  • Responsible for the management of Milpark Education’s lead contact database list, data integrity and data synchronisation between the marketing automation and CRM systems.
  • Work closely with marketing, sales and information technology teams in procuring and importing data, and ensuring data are properly segmented for targeting purposes.

Execute lead nurturing program strategy

  • Collaborate with Sales and Academic team to identify opportunities to develop lead nurture pathways.
  • Continuously monitor and test effectiveness of all lead nurture pathways and programs, including website, landing pages, virtual events and email.

Budgeting and Planning

  • Adhere to all policies and procedures with regards to budget expenditure, displaying budget control for individual products and courses reporting any variances promptly

Agency management

  • Day-to-day management of external agencies to develop plans, creative, production and print that achieve ROI required per campaign
  • Ensure that brand standards and identity guidelines are adhered to

General responsibilities

  • Input to the annual strategic marketing planning process
  • To ensure accuracy of marketing materials and be responsible for formal sign off process where required
  • To ensure detailed and accurate records are maintained, e.g. recording contact and financial information
  • Actively partake in the running of the department providing ideas and best practice synonymous with a high-performance team
  • To keep abreast of all legislation and regulations and to ensure Milpark Education’s  adherence and to and report any changes to the Marketing Manager

 

Requirements

  • A recognised professional qualification in marketing would be a distinct advantage (e.g. marketing degree) or equivalent level qualification.

 

Advantageous

  • Minimum five+ years’ experience in marketing operations, lead generation, business process improvement, reporting and analysis, and related roles.
  • At least two to three years’ experience in digital marketing working in-house or at an agency.
  • Extensive experience in a management role – in-house or with an agency
  • Proven history of developing process improvement based on best practices, data and critical thinking.
  • Ability to turn data into marketing intelligence and revenue-generating actions.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including to rally cross-functional departments and remote teams.
  • Experience in marketing planning and budgeting process execution and management.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with database design concepts, data modelling, and segmentation.
  • Experience using salesforce CRM software.
  • Experience managing a marketing automation system such as Eloqua or similar
  • Experience in implementing Google Adword campaigns as well as PPC advertising.
  • Experience with Google Analytics or other web analytics software as well as social media channels
  • Managing multi-integrated campaigns simultaneously
  • Advertising, digital and CRM marketing knowledge and experience
  • Meeting objectives and campaign deadlines
  • Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel skills
  • Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to successfully multi-task
  • Experience in managing and using affiliate programmes will be an advantage
