Job description
A leading radio broadcaster is looking for a young, dynamic media planner who has a passion for radio. The candidate needs to have a minimum of two years’ planning experience in an ATL media agency, is comfortable with radio planning, research cross tabulation and competitive ad-spend reporting. The candidate needs to have completed a degree and have at least a diploma or certificate in advertising media communications, brand communication or brand management, including at least one module in digital media or marketing.
Job role and responsibilities
- Build optimised radio plans for agencies and clients.
- Build post campaigns for agencies and clients.
- Build and update insight’s driven collateral for clients and media agencies, including, but not limited to station toolkits, show profiles, sales nuggets and roadshow presentations.
- Uncover insights to support sales team presentations, specific to categories and clients, by analysing industry specific and bespoke research data.
- Identify target audiences by analysing brand/product consumption/usage.
- Update monthly adverting spend reports.
- Update quarterly audience reports.
- Update monthly digital audience reports.
- Monthly AdDynamic spend reports.
- Media inflation tracking reports.
- Competitor tracking.
- Maintain detailed records.
- Work in a team and work with colleagues across divisions to unearth insights.
Requirements
Education requirements
We are looking for candidates with an undergraduate degree in communications or a degree accompanied with a diploma or certificate, with at least one module including digital media/marketing/communication.
Any of the following communications undergraduate degrees
- BA strategic brand management
- BA strategic brand communication
- BCom strategic brand management
- BCom digital marketing
- BBA brand building management
- BCom marketing management
- BCom marketing management science
Or any undergraduate degree and diploma/certificate in communications and marketing, with at least one module in digital media or marketing. Examples of such diplomas and certificates may include:
- Brand communications
- Media communications
- Advertising and integrated communication practice, etc.
Skills requirements
The following skills are required for the position.
Must already be familiar with the following software:
- Email – Outlook
- Word – basic
- PowerPoint – intermediate, including graphing
- Excel – intermediate, including sorting and graphing
Must already be familiar with the following planning software and tools:
- Radio planning systems – Telmar Radio Max or Nielsen IMS
- RAMS planning – Telmar or Nielsen cross tab systems
- Nielsen AdDynamix
- Ibis Media Manager
