Job description

Job purpose
Translate information gathered by Client Service Associates into the creative visual FCC model, ensuring the client services department quality assurance standards are maintained.
Assist the Design Manager in ensuring that a high standard of work is produced by the design studio and that deadlines are met.
Duties and responsibilities
Design responsibilities:

  • Design layouts digitally for bi-weekly Notices, monthly Picture Stories and quarterly Magazines as per FCC template and according to the client corporate identity
  • Complete all sets assigned in the allocated time frame for each day (up to two – three sets per day).
  • Update existing templates when required
  • Ensure that instructions from the client are followed, as specified by the CSA
  • Clarify any design issues or problems with the relevant CSA within the set process and time frame
  • Assist Design Manager in ensuring that a high standard of work is produced by the Design Studio (checking of bi-weekly Notices and monthly Picture Stories)
  • Handle any ad hoc urgent design requirements

Admin responsibilities:

  • Manage time effectively to adhere to FCC and client deadlines
  • Adhere to set studio processes to ensure client service- level agreement is met
  • To check set thoroughly once designed and to correct any mistakes

Proofreading responsibilities:

  • Assist design manager daily with the checking of final design notices and picture stories.

Requirements

Qualifications
A degree, diploma or certificate in graphic design
Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite CS5 and up, especially InDesign and Photoshop
  • Creative ability
  • Good time management skills
  • Good layout skills
  • Ability to interpret CI guidelines into templates and relevant designs
