Job description
We have an exciting position for a regional sales executive to drive revenue in Africa. Reporting to the Head of Sales: Africa, you will sell to African institutions and manage existing accounts to meet targets.
Key responsibilities – selling
- Hit budgeted sales revenue (new and renewals) for *Research Professional Africa institutional site licences across African territories as directed by the head of sales: Africa.
- Represent *Research as a business whilst on sales trips to African territories.
- Sell, negotiate and present face to face to maximise sales revenue and promote our brands within the marketplace.
- Explore new revenue channels on an ongoing basis.
- Report sales figures to the head of sales: Africa against targets (actuals, forecasts).
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records with comprehensive notes, history and sales related information.
- Engage with clients to ensure a professional and tight working relationship.
- Attend events as agreed in the strategy. Promote – research professional, generate new leads and business as well as gain a better understanding of opportunities open to us, reporting back to the head of sales: Africa.
- This role involves trips within African territories. Trips will usually last for three to five days. Therefore, applicants need to be able to schedule this into their lives on a consistent and regular basis.

- Ability to work individually as well as part of a team.
- Articulate, numerate, literate.
- Ability to weekly report sales and forecasts accurately and in an organised fashion.
- Ability to communicate at all levels, with high level decision makers, academics, administrators as well as internally to the head of sales: Africa, colleagues and peers. This applies to working face to face with an individual, a small number of people as well as to larger groups – typically up to 20 in a group presentation.
- Excellent presentation skills, tailored to the client.

- Tertiary education with exposure to the research directorate of your university would be highly advantageous
