POSITION SYNOPSIS:

The purpose of the role is to provide guidance and facilitate continuous initiatives to enhance business towards the set socio-economic transformation imperatives.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Serious contenders will have a relevant Degree in Commercial or Technical with a minimum of 8 years industry related experience, of which 3 year must have been in a managerial capacity;
• In depth knowledge of the Transformation climate in South Africa is essential;
• Broad knowledge of supply processes is essential;
• Sound knowledge and understanding of relevant procurement legislation is essential;
• Knowledge of Commodity Procurement and Procurement Principles and Practices is essential;
• In depth knowledge of BBBEE, CIDB, and DTI socio-economic prescripts is essential;
• Registration with the Chartered Institute of Purchase and Supply (CIPS) or SAPICS is advantageous.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Responsible for the development, execution of strategy in line with the South32 Transformation performance targets;
• Oversee the develop of processes and procedure within the Transformation team while ensuring organizational alignment;
• Maintains a constant presence as first line support for Enterprise and Supplier Development (ESD);
• Manage the service providers that support the Transformation strategy;
• Manage local walk-in business support centres to ensure sustainable growth of EMEs & QSEs;
• Forge relationships with the local municipality, government (DMR), and community to showcase our ESD achievements;
• Facilitate the identification of ESD opportunities and support the Category Management and Purchasing team to execute such opportunities.
