Aspire Art Auctions, Cape Town, are offering a 3-month paid internship for an art administrator with the possibility of a full-time contract to follow.
This paid 3-month internship with the possibility of a full-time contract thereafter will appeal to someone interested in the art business who is prepared to start at entry level and grow along with this dynamic business.

Tasks include assisting the Directors and Senior Art Specialist with:
setting up Cape Town offices and auction premises
- researching artists and artworks
- assisting with art valuations
- developing client and key industry relationships
- sourcing consignments for and generating sales through auctions
- cataloguing and catalogue production
- logistics and archiving
- keeping an up to date inventory list of artworks
- organising the movement and storage of artworks
- developing the database
- assisting media releases and images for dissemination to various media
- assisting with website, online platform and social media development and maintenance
- assisting photographers
- general administration
Requirements:
- BA Fine Art with History and Theory of Art or equivalent is preferable
- A love of art, an interest in the art market and the ability to work well under pressure
- Good interpersonal and excellent communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Photoshop
- Driver’s license
Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30 to 4:30. You may be required to work overtime occasionally.
