About Rand Water
Rand Water is the main water utility run by the government of South Africa. Found in 1903 in Johannesburg, Rand Water supplies potable water to Gauteng province and many other areas of the country. The water comes from numerous sources to be purified and to be supplied to mines, industries and metropolitan and local municipalities and is responsible for sanitation of waste water. As a part of the Department of Water and Environmental Affairs, Rand Water give its reports to the Department but has remained financially self-sustaining.

Requirements For Bursaries
Rand Water bursaries requires the interested applicants to fulfill following requirements:
- Applicants are South African citizens with valid ID documents
- Rand Water bursaries is prioritizing female applicants, applicants from rural areas, applicants from previously disadvantaged community and people with disabilities
- Provisional acceptance or registration letter from a South African tertiary institution accredited by Council of Higher Education
- Successful students will be required to work for Rand Water after completing their study
