MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Transport management/Logistics management/Economics Engineering Diploma/Degree

Experience

  • At least 7 years experience in a senior operations management  position
  • At least 5years’ experience in a senior operations management, project management, consulting or solutions development environment in supply chain, 3-5 years relevant experience in the FMCG industry

Job Specification

Development of  marketing strategies and end to end supply chain solutions

  • Grow the existing business
  • Identify strategic alliances/ventures
  • Secure new markets/customers/territories, particularly in respect of logistic support and backward integration into customers
  • Survey markets and competitor activity
  • Prepare and manage  the strategic marketing plan and maintain a healthy sales pipeline of opportunities
  • Knowledge and understanding of practicalities and complexity of the industry.
  • Research and keep abreast with development in   operations, systems, warehousing and equipment methodologies
  • Contribute to strategy setting at divisional level
  • Communicate strategy internally within the area of authority
  • Proactively seek opportunities to introduce the business to the broader market
  • Business case formulation for new services and solutions understanding the feasibility, value to the client, potential profit enhancement for the business as well as capital investment requirements.
  • Submitting and presenting proposals to the customer
  • Planning for and contributing to contract renewals for the key customer base

Develop new ways of providing service (Innovation)

  • Provide complete supply chain solutions that meet customer needs
  • Provide value added solutions in supply chain management and building business cases that enhance profit potential
  • Keeping abreast with latest supply chain trends
  • Identifying cost-saving opportunities for clients

Implement  and manage new projects

  • Lead the project team and co-coordinate input from all stakeholders
  • Ongoing reporting on projects
  • Fully understand the customers’ business, their operating environment and biggest challenges

Maintain key, new and existing customer relationships

  • Manage relationships with key decision makers within the customer’s organization
  • Ensure and maintain ongoing operational relationships with internal and external customers
  • Proficiency in terms of establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Retain existing clients through formal and effective client interaction
  • Lead and co-ordinate all client retention activities at regional/national level
  • Elevate all potential client risks to the attention of Exco. for action
  • Introduce innovative and cost effective initiatives aimed at improving efficiencies at a client
  • Develop the revenue contribution of current clients
  • Identify new opportunities and innovative solutions to key customers that are not in their existing portfolio
