Job Purpose
Build long term awareness, power in the mind, and loyalty for our universal financial services brand by contributing to the Group marketing strategy.
To position the Standard Bank Group as the recognised leader in its field as a major sponsor of the visual arts, through the management of the Standard Bank visual arts portfolio which comprises: the Standard Bank Gallery, Standard Bank Corporate Art Collection, the Standard Bank African Art Collection and the art education and outreach programmes.
To manage relationships with key external and internal stakeholders.
Responsible for the effective management of a R4.5 million budget.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
- Creation, development and implementation of a Visual Arts Strategy for the Standard Bank of South Africa’s visual arts sponsorship programme.
- Co-creation of a marketing strategy for all visual arts entities. Including identification of appropriate media, events, advertising elements, promotions, tours, lectures and publicity campaigns.
- Provides inputs into and implements overall Group Sponsorships Strategy.
- Ensures Standard Bank of South Africa has a visible presence in the visual arts arena through networking with all arts and culture stakeholders. (Government, Diplomatic, Industry, Galleries and Museums).
- Accountable for the public, academic and media recognition and coverage of all exhibitions and both corporate collections.
- Identifies and implements appropriate exhibitions/events in line with Sponsorships, Visual Arts and Marketing Strategies.
- Strategic planning and co-ordination of project implementation – that being approximately 12 high quality gallery and external exhibitions annually (i.e. technical and conceptual quality).
- Partnering Business Units in the leveraging of the galleries annual exhibition programme.
- High visitor numbers to the gallery (approximately 15 000 per annum).
- Significant media coverage as well as academic citation and public recognition of all exhibitions and both corporate collections.
- The optimisation of the customer experience at the Standard Bank Gallery, providing a positive Standard Bank experience.
- Effective people management and training.
