POSITION OBJECTIVE
The successful candidate will report to the District Manager be responsible for the management of the silviculture, environmental, roads and other plantation activities for the designated areas.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Ensure all activities on APO are completed timeously
- Meet monthly and annual production budget targets
- Focus on the establishment to ensure optimal stocking of compartments
- Management of contractors to ensure quality and value for money of operations
- Scheduling of activities, planning and prioritizing of work
- Management and control of company assets
- Safety, Health and Environment compliance
- Ensure compliance with FSC standards and requirements
- Fire management and risk reduction using the Fire Risk Management system
REQUIREMENTS
Educational:
- Grade 12
- BSc/BTech/National Diploma Forestry
- Driver’s License
Work Experience:
- At least 3-5 years relevant operational experience
Other:
- Honest, reliable and energetic individual
- Innovative and adaptable
- Good Communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to function in a multi-disciplinary team
- Able to function independently and be accountable
- Ability to plan, lead, organise and control subordinates/contractors
- Might be required to reside on the plantation and will be required to perform fire standby duties
