POSITION OBJECTIVE
The successful candidate will report to the GM: Forestry and be responsible for providing technical advice and support on the implementation of sustainable forestry/agricultural development initiatives and activities

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

  • Identification and establishment of farms
  • Development and technical advice to ensure the sustainable management of areas
  • Focus on the establishment to ensure optimal stocking of compartments
  • Management of contractors to ensure quality and value for money of operations
  • Scheduling of activities, planning and prioritizing of work
  • Management and control of company assets
  • Safety, Health and Environment compliance
  • Ensure compliance with FSC standards and requirements
  • Fire management and risk reduction using the Fire Risk Management system

REQUIREMENTS

Educational:

  • Grade 12
  • Relevant qualification on plant production or forestry will be an advantage
  • Driver’s License

Work Experience:

  • Highly experienced in the field of agriculture or forestry (including sitrus/macadamia/pine estate management)

  • Good Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to function in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Able to function independently and be accountable
  • Ability to plan, lead, organise and control subordinates/contractors
  • Might be required to reside on the plantation and will be required to perform fire standby duties
