South 32 2024 Job Vacancy Superintendent Production Planning – Domestic Mine

POSITION SYNOPSIS:

The purpose of the role is to lead a multi-discipline team of Mine Planning, Mine Scheduling and drill and Blast Designs in order to maximize ore extraction and meet customer requirements.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Serious contenders will have a Degree / BTECH/National Diploma in Mining Engineering, Geology or Metallurgy and a minimum of 8 years’ Mine Planning experience of which 2 years at least in a supervisory position;
• Planning and production in mining and processing experience on Operations is essential;
• In-depth knowledge of Strip mining methods, Drill and Blast and Coal allocation is essential;
• Mine Manager Certificate of Competence is an added advantage;
• ECSA registration as professional engineer is an added advantage;
• Knowledge in Deswik and Microstation softwares is essential;
• Knowledge 1SAP & valid Code 08/EB driver’s license is essential.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Develop & implement care strategy and action plans for the department;
• Ensure the creation and implementation of a business plan to meet strategic targets;
• Identify, develop and implement improvement strategies;
• Provide strategic/ professional direction regarding Mine Capability Planning;
• Sign off, implement and revise mine design parameters;
• Assist in identifying of field projects;
• Approve production targets, drill and blast plans and monthly production forecast;
• Annual, monthly, weekly and daily production plans and monitor and control actual cost again budget;
• Participate in the estimation and preparation of cost budget;
• Reconciliation of production volumes on a weekly, monthly frequency and uploads into 1SAP.
