South 32 2024 Job Vacancy Specialist Refractory Anode Baking Furnace – MOZAL

The purpose of this position is to assist and provide quality guidance to the External Refractory Maintenance Contractor, and to identify opportunities to perform the work in accordance with the Mozal Safety Standards.
Reporting to the Execution Superintendent – Baking Furnace, the incumbent will be responsible to;

• Develop and implement a quality assurance system to ensure that all work is completed as specified;
• Identify improvement opportunities and ensure that they are systematically planned and implemented.
• Ensure that contractors and teams involved in refractory maintenance comply with the required standards and realize the purpose and functionality of critical controls
• Ensure a longer service life of the refractory liner, as this is the key performance indicator of this function
• Develop adequate maintenance techniques and guide the quality of refractory staff
• Develop sound governance systems and ensure sustainability xxxxxx

Serious contenders will have a Bachelor’s Degree in xxxx or equivalent with a minimum experience of 8 years in the refractory area. Knowledge of the SAP system and in-depth knowledge of refractory work, practical masonry skills, and ability to engage with suppliers for cost-effective solutions will benefit this position.
