Job Description
Summary purpose of the job:
The Information Communications and Technology department has an opportunity for an IT Graduate Intern (Infrastructure Support Analyst) to be exposed and assist to facilitate information service requirements, regarding technical and operational capabilities, of all internal and external users.
 
This exciting position reporting to the IT Infrastructure Support Analystincludes the below tasks:

  • Respond to all Help Desk calls and update problem management system
  • Direct desktop/mobile support to all the users
  • Remote desktop/mobile support to satellite offices via telephone and/or remote desktopsoftware
  • Provide hardware support for PC builds & cabling
  • Software Support including installation and setup of the following:
    Microsoft Windows 10, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Exchange
  • Administration & Account set up of the following:
  • Do basic Active Directory tasks as allocated by the team, and check backup statuses for failure and report any failures to team members.
  • Attend to customer queries and provide support to any technical related issues
  • Support IT infrastructure (Server & Desktop)
  • Troubleshooting network related issues
  • Ensure various PC; Laptops and Mobile installations completed timeously
  • Keep Supervisor informed of progress of deliverables
  • Carry out maintenance, on timely basis and ensure SLA’s are met
  • Keep the IT Asset register updated and keep the documentation updated and complete
Job Requirements
 Requirements:

  • To qualify, we require a candidates with a National Diploma or Degree in Information Technology or Information Systems
  • Driver’s License is essential
  • Understanding and knowledge of Windows application and supporting software and hardware and their interaction
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows XP and above
  • Basic understanding of the TCP/IP networking and LAN troubleshooting.
  • Excellent team player and good communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 2010 and above
  • Microsoft Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server, SQL Server environment
  • Basic Networking knowledge, and Installation and configuration of 3G devices

 
Competencies needed:
Ability:

  • Analyse user requests and administrative activities to determine scope of operational and informational needs
  • Assist in the installation, maintenance and modification of computer operating systems andprograms
  • Oversee the installation, maintenance and modification of computer operating systems and programs

 
Experience:

  • Analysing user requests and administrative activities to determine scope of operational and informational needs
  • Conducting system level testing and assist end-users with acceptance level testing

 
Knowledge:

  • Basic understanding of the TCP/ IP networking and LAN troubleshooting
  • Understanding and knowledge of Windows application and supporting software and hardwareand their interaction
  • Basic Networking knowledge, installation and configuration of 3G devices
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 2010 and above.
