Eskom Coal Procurement Processes

Eskom thank you for showing interest in supplying coal.

Eskom owns and operates more than 13 coal-fired power stations which have different coal quality specifications. In addition, Eskom is a responsible corporate citizen which procures its goods and services, including coal, from sources that meet all legislative and regulatory requirements.

To fulfil this requirement Eskom therefore pre-qualifies all coal resources offered to it by carrying out coal suitability tests and by doing regulatory compliance checks on the mines concerned. Please familiarise yourself with the requirements you will need to fulfil in order to commence the process of being considered as a potential Eskom coal supplier.

If your company meets the above criteria please provide a coal supply proposal along with the list of requirements for Eskom to evaluate.
