Key Performance Outputs:
The successful candidate will, amongst others, focus on delivering the following and report to the Senior Programme Manager:
- Develop detailed project requirements and prepare business cases.
- Conduct an assessment on project pre-feasibility, strategic value, importance and related risk analysis.
- Mobilise project teams and develop a Work Breakdown structure.
- Responsible for successful implementation of project from start-up to close-out, inclusive of document management and deliverables.
- Manage, monitor, evaluate and report on on-going project performance progress and achievements in relation to remaining within budget.
- Overall responsibility for management of governance and risk relating to the project i.e. logging and mitigation of risks.
- Cultivate and maintain good working relationships with Programme Manager, relevant stakeholders, consultants and contractors.
- Tender and Capex Management related to projects.
- Financial Management related to Capex/Opex and forecasting.
- Create, collate and submit reports including PMO report submissions as well as initiate audits.
Technical Skills and Experience:
The successful candidate must have the following:
- A relevant 3 Year Degree in a Built Environment Discipline (Architecture, Quantity Surveying, Engineering or Building Science).
- Diploma in Project Management.
- Professional Built Environment Registration as a Project Manager or Built Environment Professional (SACPCMP, SACAP, ECSA, SACQSP).
- Registration with relevant and aligned Voluntary Associations will be advantageous.
- Minimum of 5 years relevant large project experience.
- Previous experience in directing construction related multi -disciplinary professional teams is essential.
- Hands on approach to Project Management.
- Good understanding and application of PMBOK and Prince 2 principles.
- Working knowledge of Construction Industry related contracts (JBCC, NEC, GCC, FIDIC and PSCs).
- MS Office Proficiency.
- Code 08 Drivers licence.
Competencies:
The role requires a candidate to be stakeholder focused and have the ability to interact with a diverse group of people. In addition, the candidate must have good negotiation and diplomacy skills relevant to the environment. The candidate must be able to work under pressure and work independently and with minimum supervision. In relation to the deliverables of the role, the candidate must be analytical and be able to resolve problems. Lastly, excellent interpersonal, organizational, planning and time management skills are desirable for this role.
