Beaulieu College Process for the Grade 8 2024 Scholarship applications

Prospective scholarship applicants are encouraged to attend our information evening to find out more about Beaulieu College.
The following scholarships are made available at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee:

  • Academic Scholarships:
  • Cultural Scholarships: Music, Drama, Dancing or Visual Art, Chess etc.
  • Sport Scholarships: Hockey, Cricket, Netball, Soccer, Athletics, Equestrian, Tennis, Rugby, Swimming, Water Polo.

Scholarship Applications for grade 8 2024 may be submitted as from 13 January 2024.  The closing date to submit an application for a scholarship will be 28 February 2024.  Late applications will not be accepted.
The following criteria will apply:-

Criteria applied for the selection of the listed scholarships:

Academic Scholarships:

  • Candidates must have achieved an aggregate of at least 80% or more at Primary school level.
  • Examinations will be written in Engish and Mathematics only,
  • The scholarship examination will be written on Saturday 4 March 2024.

Cultural Scholarship:

  • Music: To qualify candidates need to play an instrument at Grade Three level or be a member of a youth orchestra
  • Drama/Choir or Art: Candidates must have achieved at Gold or Diploma level in an Eisteddfod.
  • Dancing: Candidates must be a member of a dance studio and preferably have participated in  examinations and/or participated at Eisteddfod level.

Sport Scholarship:

Please note:  Scholarship applications for 2024 are closed.  No further applications for 2024 can be accepted.
This requires candidates who represent a sport at Zone level, Prestige (Swimming), Provincial or 1st Team level. The sport of choice should fall within the sports offered at Beaulieu College.
Candidates attend the scholarship examinations and assessments by invitation only.

How to Apply for a Scholarship:

To apply for a scholarship, forward a Beaulieu College application form together with a detailed CV and a scholarship application form containing the following:

  • pupil’s personal details
  • address
  • current primary school
  • contact telephone details of parents/guardians
  • copies of all the pupil’s certificates obtained or examination results completed (e.g. dancing,)
  • pupil’s latest grade 6 report

Should the applicant be applying for a Sport or a Cultural Scholarship, the candidate’s CV must include a brief description of the candidate’s participation level in either sport or culture.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • No original certificates must be included in the CV.  We cannot take responsibility for any original certificates.  Kindly supply us with copies only.
  • No late applications will be accepted.  The closing date for consideration to be invited to write or audition or to be assessed for a scholarship is on Friday 28 February 2024.
  • No letters of recommendations from the Head of the School, Grade teacher or Sports Manager are required at this stage.  The College will make the necessary enquiries with the relevant departments.
