DHET 2024 Fee Adjustment Grants – UWC
Dear Students
APPLYING FOR THE DHET 2024 FEE ADJUSTMENT GRANT:
We are inviting students from families with a gross combined household income of no more than R600 000 per annum qualify to apply for the 8% Fee Adjustment Grant (so-called gap funding). It is not a loan and will not have to be repaid by qualifying students.
Who qualifies?
Only South African citizens and citizens with permanent South African residence studying towards an undergraduate or postgraduate qualification in 2024.
The applicant and direct family (mother, father, spouse or legal guardians) must have a gross combined family income of R600 000 or less per annum before tax deductions.
The DHET Grant will only cover tuition fees and university managed accommodation
Applicants who have been approved for NSFAS funding do not have to apply; they will automatically be considered.
NSFAS and gap-funded students
All current and new UWC NSFAS and 2024 GAP funded students do not have to complete the DHET Grant application form but will automatically qualify for the DHET Grant (these students have already been means tested).
Who must apply?
Undergraduate and postgraduate students who are not on NSFAS but are within the R600 000 annual family income have to download the application form to be considered for the 8% Grant.
