Job Description: 
FACULTY OF SOCIAL SCIENCES AND HUMANITIES
SENIOR LECTURER / LECTURER: POLITICAL SCIENCE
ALICE CAMPUS – REF NO: 380
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
  • Supervising postgraduate students
  • Initiating, leading and participating in research projects that advance the mission and vision of the University of Fort Hare
  • Coordinating departmental activities
  • Routine administrative duties

Requirements: 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Possession of PhD in Political Science / International Relations for Senior Lecturer or Master’s degree for Lecturer;
  • Seven (7) years University teaching experience with proven research output for Senior Lecturer, and 5 Years for Lecturer
  • Demonstrated ability to teach, conduct research and supervise postgraduate students’ projects;
  • Potential to undertake academic administrative responsibilities at departmental level;
  • Ability and willingness to participate in community engagement projects
  • Sound interpersonal skills
