POST : OPERATIONAL MANAGER NURSING (SPECIALITY) THEATRE
REMUNERATIVE PACKAGE
Salary Notch : R 532 449.00 per annum
Other Benefits : Rural Allowance 8% of basic salary

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Senior certificate(Grade 12)
Degree/ Diploma in Nursing Science and Midwifery
Diploma in Medical and Surgical Nursing Operating Theatre Technique
Current registration with South African Nursing Council in General Nursing and Midwifery
Proof of current registration with SANC (2024)
Minimum of 9 years appropriate/ recognizable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with the SANC in General nursing
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Degree/ Diploma in Nursing Administration or Health Service Management
Computer literacy
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, TRAINING AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
Demonstrate in-depth understanding of Nursing Legislation and related legal and ethical Nursing practices.
Knowledge and experience in Public Service Policies, Acts and Regulations.
Sound management, negotiation, interpersonal and problem solving skills.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Sound working knowledge of nursing management in Operating Theatre, at least five(5) years’ experience.
Knowledge of labour relations and disciplinary procedures.
Basic financial management skills
Ability to provide coaching, supervision and monitoring of supervisees.
Ability to manage all resources relevant to the post.
Data management.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Ensure clinical nursing practice by the nursing team in accordance with the scope of practice and nursing standards
Promote quality nursing care as directed by the professional scope of practice and standards as determined by the health facilities Operating Theatre Unit.
Display knowledge and skills in quality improvement planning and project management as in National Core Standards and Ideal Hospital Realization maintenance.
Demonstrate basic understanding of HR and Financial Policies.
Demonstrate effective communication with patients, supervisors and other health care professionals including more complex report writing when required.
Work as part of the Multidisciplinary Team
Work effectively with persons of diverse intellectual, cultural, racial and religious differences.
Display concern for patients, promoting advocacy and facilitating proper treatment and care.
Ensure that all staff adheres to Batho Pele Principles and observe Patient’s rights.
Provide relief to Matron’s office both day and night duty when required.
Develop and implement standard operating procedures for the unit.
Monitor unit data collection and verification.
