PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Functional appointment in Teaching and Learning, Research and Innovation, Community Engagement and Administration in the School of Nursing.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS…
- PhD in Nursing
- Nursing education registered with SANC
- Accreditation with South African Nursing Council.
- Registration with SANC as a professional nurse.
- 3- 5 years of experience in Research-lecturing and Postgraduate supervision
- 2-5 years in Nursing Practice.
- 5-7 years in Higher Education and Teaching

JOB SPECIFICATION…
- Leading and Coordinating the teaching and learning of Research modules in Masters and PhD Research Program, including clinical specialization
- Development and teaching of partly or complete clinical modules in Advanced Practice Nursing(clinical fields – medical surgical – nursing; public/community health; mental/psychological health)
- Leading community engagement and development projects
- Take responsibility of Postgraduate supervision (Masters and PhDs)
- Update and develop research methodology course work for Masters and PhDs in nursing and health
- Support and lead the enhancement of publications for a developing research staff compliment
- Guide and support with NRF and other research funding applications
- Lead student and support personnel in Undergraduate and Postgraduate research
- Support and assist with nursing/health clinical Postgraduate course-work development in the School
Recommendations:
- Clinical Specialisation in Midwifery or Community nursing or Psychiatric nursing will serve as a recommendation.
