PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: To execute core HR processes, maintain healthy employee relations on campus and develop effective
working relationships with staff, management and unions
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS…
Minimum requirements:
- A bachelors’ degree in Business Administration/ Human Resources/ Finance
- Overall ten years’ experience in relevant industry (five year’s operational experience and three years’ management experience)
Other competency requirements:
- Problem solving skills
- Interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a team and interact with stakeholders at level
JOB SPECIFICATION…
Core Responsibilities:
HR Administration Management:
• Implement the HR Administration Strategy
• Assist with the development and implementation of best practice processes and procedures within HR Administration
• Oversee the effective execution of monthly Payroll Administration process to meet monthly cut off dates
• Provide Hr Administration reports as and when requested
• Monitor accuracy and rectify based on exception reports
• Stay updated on all relevant People & Culture policies and procedures
Organisational Structure Administration and Maintenance:
• Oversee the implementation and maintenance of organisational structures or HR systems as designed and amended
• Oversee the implementation and accurate maintenance of positions on the Oracle system according to the approved Job Structure of the NWU
Registry and Records Management:
• Oversee the implementation of policies, procedures and healthy practices related to records management
• Enforce good document control by processing filing and disposing as per the NWU file plan
• Maintain document compliance for auditing purposes
System Management:
• Provide input for the optimization and enhancement of the HR System
• Investigate and evaluate requests for system changes and enhancements
• Authorise system changes for implementation after successful testing
Management and Leadership Result Areas:
• Team composition effectiveness and efficiency
• Stakeholder relationship development and effectiveness
• Corporate governance conformance, reporting and risk management
• Budgeting, cost management and cost effectiveness
• Unit processes and systems design, utilisation, effectiveness and efficiency
