Job Title: Facilitator: Child and Youth Care Worker / Social Auxiliary
Job Location: Braamfontein, Johannesburg
The purpose of the position is to ensure the efficient facilitation of all aspects of training Child and Youth Care Learners and Social Auxiliary learners on the HWSETA Learnerships.
Responsibilities:
- Subject matter expert for Career Development (Social Auxiliary Work and Child and Care Work Programmes) in Afrika Tikkun
- Programme Mapping, facilitation, assessment and monitoring programme delivery
- Administration and control – providing projections, work plan and monthly reports and submits to Management
- Manage the training records of the learners both classroom and the placement areas
- Ensure that the two training learnership programmes (Social Auxiliary Work and Child and Youth Care Learnerships) in centre are running effectively
- Monitor and evaluate training programme by conduct site visits where the students are placed to check on their progress and offer assistance
- Liaise with the various service providers and update them on learner progress
- Maintain an understanding of training trends, developments and best practices
- Ensure the delivery of programmes against the operational plan and strategy for the centre
- Prepare monthly quantitative and qualitative reports on the progress of the programme
- Ensure good communication and with other staff members
- Other duties as may arise from time to time in the performance of the job
Requirements:
- A relevant tertiary qualification preferably in Social Work
- Qualified as a Child and Youth Care worker (NQF level 4/5)
- Qualified as an assessor
- A minimum of three years’ experience in a training centre or similar. Experience in program development and delivery
- Knowledge of the NQF and SETA’s
- A teaching background as well as experience in youth skills development and placement would be an advantage
- Must be proficient in English and another SA ethnic language
- Numeracy and communication skills (verbal, written, facilitation, interpersonal, stakeholder)
- Project planning, coordination, implementation and monitoring skills
- Organisational skills, an ability to plan and follow procedures
- Report writing, data capturing, and data analysis
- Ability to use data to influence decision making
- Systems development and integration
- Budget development, allocation and management
- Team member management – working cooperatively with team members or independently and be accountable
- Ability to take initiative and develop resolutions to challenges
- Competency/ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and databases
- Interest and experience in youth skills development and placement
- Comprehending communication from others.
- Effective verbal and written communication ability
- Initiative – Making active attempts to influence events to achieve goals.
- Flexibility – Ability to adapt to changing circumstances where required
- Attention to detail – Ensuring that work is completed with great care and that every detail is taken care of timeously
