2024 internship Opportunity at YTT

The Youth and Technology Team (YTT) at Genesis has an internship opportunity for a recent graduate. As a YTT intern, you will assist the YTT to position the firm to be able to identify, design and implement these measures. This will include assisting with consulting projects in this field, helping to conceptualise and execute business development and capacity building strategies across various practice areas in the firm, and developing thought leadership and intellectual capital for the firm’s marketing activities.

The Intern level is an entry-level position within the organization. The main purpose of the job is to participate in teams of consultants to facilitate the completion of strategic consulting assignments for clients including mobile network operators, digital platform providers, digital financial service providers, donor organizations, and government departments or regulatory authorities.

The Youth and Technology Team (YTT) at Genesis is a cross-cutting initiative across the firm to develop the firm’s capabilities at the intersection of the African youth wave and technology innovation. While many see this youth wave as a crisis, we believe that misses the point: this is an historic opportunity. The demographic dividend is a once-in-a-century opportunity to dramatically raise living standards and change the course of the region. However, this will not happen automatically and there are a number of measures which need to be in place for this demographic transition to be translated into a dividend. These measures must harness the fourth industrial revolution which is ushering in a new era of technology innovation, providing both significant opportunities and new forms of risk.
