Clinical Manager Job – Cape Town

Purpose of this position is to assume overall responsibility for the clinical management of all programmes and provide technical assistance.  Ensure implementation and evaluation of health interventions in order to strengthen the health system.
Must have MBCHB qualification
Job Specification:
Provide clinical technical support to all site / regional managers and subcontractors
Contribute to relevant operational research relating to HIV and TB Prevention
Develop achievable, measurable objectives for programme; work to align to the national framework in support of South Africa’s national HIV and TB response and the national strategic plan
Serve as a technical expert at the organization
Participate in the management team and works collaboratively with other unit managers to develop and implement integrated cross-cutting programmes
Manage sub-contracted organisations, review their programmatic and financial reports and approve payments
Develop work plans in line with Operational Budgets
Provide technical assistance in regards to planning, capacity building, implementation, monitoring and evaluation to key governmental and non-governmental partners
Provide oversight to the HIV Prevention programme administration
Prepare proposals and budgets for projects
Provide periodic and final reports to funders on the various projects
Ensure clinical governance and clinical quality and efficiency of all TB/HIV related activities
Ensure compliance with Good Clinical Practise (GCP) standards
Implement best practice standards and clinical protocols information
Ensure compliance with legal and funder requirements

Minimum Requirements:
MBCHB
Registered as a medical practitioner with the Health Professions Council of South Africa
10 years’ experience in TB and HIV clinical care including antiretroviral treatment
Experience in implementing training and mentoring programmes
Valid code 8 driver’s license
Ability to travel extensively
Advanced clinical competency in diagnosis and treatment of TB and HIV including antiretroviral treatment for adults and children
Experience in assessment of training needs and development of training materials
Familiarity with PEPFAR reporting requirements
Speciality in Community Medicine
Exceptional English language written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in MS office
Exceptional interpersonal and managerial skills and experience
Ability to work within a diverse team
